SWITCH is a consortium of 7 institutions of higher learning in the Milwaukee area.  Students and faculty at each of the schools can borrow materials from the others as if they were borrowing from their home library.  You will need a valid bar code and password to request or check out items.

Once you request something, it is delivered to Sacred Heart via 'bin mail' (see that information below).

The member schools are Alverno College [AC], Concordia University-Wisconsin [CUW], the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design [MIAD], Mt. Mary University [MMU], Sacred Heart, St. Francis de Sales Seminary [SFS], and Wisconsin Lutheran College [WLC].  Information about each school, its hours and policies, may be found here.

• Search TOPCAT for what you need
• Find the title you want, and click on it
• Click on the "Request" in the box to the right of your screen
• If you haven't already, log in to your library account, using your SHSST email login and password
• Select SHSST for delivery location
• You will receive an email once the item arrives at Sacred Heart

Please note that eBooks cannot be borrowed from other libraries.

Bin Mail is the delivery system for SWITCH.  Once you request an item from another school, that school will send it along to Sacred Heart via 'the bins'.  Once the item arrives here at Sacred Heart, you will receive an email letting you know it's here. You may pick the item up from the hold shelf outside the library offices, and check it out using the self-check system.
