Leo Dehon Library Collections

The Leo Dehon Library has a comprehensive theological and scriptural collection of over 95,000 volumes, with special strengths in the areas of canon law, church history, Mozarabic liturgy, and social justice, with extensive holdings in philosophy, psychology, and the arts. The library is also a major repository of materials on the devotion to, and theology and spirituality of, the Sacred Heart, as well as resources on the Priests of the Sacred Heart and Dehonian spirituality.

The Sacred Heart Collection contains over 1,000 items in multiple languages. It includes theological and devotional works, as well as resources on Fr. Leo John Dehon, founder of the Priests of the Sacred Heart and the Dehonian family.

The Lux Center for Catholic-Jewish Studies Collection is located within the library, and is arranged by subject areas, then by call number. The Center also has artefacts on display, such as a model of the third Temple in the first century BCE and devotional objects.

We subscribe to approximately 150 print journals. These are located at the far end of the library by the Lux Center. We provide access to hundreds of titles in religion and theology through our subscriptions to a variety of databases and digital journals.
