If it's a Friday, especially in Lent, you're going to a fish fry. "In Wisconsin, a fish fry conjures up warm feelings of family memories, continuity and tradition, in addition to the warm feeling that a hearty meal provides in its own right." (from the April 28, 2016 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel). See the history of this Wisconsin favorite here. Please note that many of the restaurants listed here also have fish fries, particularly the pubs and supper clubs. Parishes of all varieties get into the act during Lent, so check those out as well!
The ultimate guide (excluding parishes) is at Friday Fish Fry Guide.
