Debate

The eternal Milwaukee debate: Kopps or Leon's?  There are other contenders, but these are the heavy-weights of the local delicacy. In case you're interested, here's a brief history of custard in Milwaukee.

Culver's

Gluten-free buns available for slight extra charge. Began as a Madison-area custard shop, now many franchises located throughout the state. "n 1984, Craig and Lea Culver, along with Craig’s parents George and Ruth, opened the very first Culver's in the family’s beloved hometown of Sauk City, Wisconsin, and began serving ButterBurgers® and Frozen Custard." Also known for fried cheese curds, pretzel bites, and Butter Burgers.
