Fr. Leo John Dehon, the founder of the Priests of the Sacred Heart, engaged the media of his day in a tireless way - you might almost say he was a 19th-century influencer! He published a widely-read magazine, The Reign of the Sacred Heart in Souls and in Society, which promoted the social encyclicals of Pope Leo XIII and brought Catholic social teachings to a wide audience.

Once he founded the order, he traveled internationally to promote and encourage the local districts and provinces, keeping diaries. These, along with much of his extensive correspondence, is available through the Dehon Study Center in Rome.
